One of many great walks in the area, Loughrigg walk offers fantastic 360 degree views around central Lakes including Fairfield Horseshoe, Grasmere water, Rydal water and Lake Windermere. Just a 10 minute drive from Hawkshead the walk starts at the River Rothay in Clappersgate near Ambleside with parking just off the road near to the river. The walk begins with a good climb but is well worth it as within a mile you can enjoy the fantastic views of Lake Windermere.
